Kathmandu Restaurant was host to the New Futures Nepal charity dinner on Sunday 14 May 2006, which was timed to coincide with "Navavarsha" - the Nepali New Year

Happy 2063!

This was a ticketed event with a buffet meal of special Nepalese cuisine for 80 people, and there was a raffle with a variety of prizes. All money raised was put towards the charity. Kathmandu was happy to contribute a Meal for 2 as a raffle prize. New Futures Nepal is a registered charity with the aim of helping disabled and disadvantaged children and people in Nepal.

The Organisers booked the restaurant for the evening, with a buffet meal of Nepalese and Indian cuisine.

                
The starters included Nepalese allo chops, Wo and Vegetable Pokara and Rashmi Kebabs.
The main dishes included Bhuna Gosht , Chicken Tarkari, Allo Gobi , and Bodi Bhaje (butter beans) , with pilau rice, cut vegetables, yoghurt and a lime pickle. Kathmandu's excellent naan bread was also on the menu.
